My name is Ry Sophy, a professional English-speaking private tour guide and driver based in Siem Reap, Cambodia, the gateway to the magnificent temples of Angkor.
But my story began far from Angkor.
I was born and raised in Bavel District, Battambang Province, in a rural Cambodian community. Growing up during the difficult post-war years taught me lessons that no classroom could teach — resilience, humility, compassion, perseverance, and the value of education.
