My name is Ry Sophy, a professional English-speaking private tour guide and driver based in Siem Reap, Cambodia, the gateway to the magnificent temples of Angkor.
But my story began far from Angkor.
I was born and raised in Bavel District, Battambang Province, in a rural Cambodian community. Growing up during the difficult post-war years taught me lessons that no classroom could teach — resilience, humility, compassion, perseverance, and the value of education.
Those early experiences shaped my character and continue to guide the way I live, work, and serve others today.

MY JOURNEY
I graduated from high school in 1996 and earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management in 2014. In 2016, I completed professional tour guide training and began my journey as a professional English-speaking tour guide and driver.
Since then, I have had the privilege of welcoming travelers from many different countries and sharing with them the beauty and richness of Cambodia.
For me, being a tour guide is not simply a profession.
It is a way to connect people.
It is an opportunity to share our history, tell the stories of our ancestors, introduce our traditions, and create meaningful connections between visitors and the Cambodian people.
I have also gained experience through NGO and community-related work, as well as international team experience. Working alongside people from different backgrounds has strengthened my communication, teamwork, adaptability, and cross-cultural understanding.
These experiences have taught me that although we may come from different countries and speak different languages, kindness, respect, friendship, and humanity connect us all.

SHARING THE HEART OF CAMBODIA 🇰🇭
Cambodia is much more than Angkor Wat.
It is an ancient civilization, a living culture, beautiful countryside, warm-hearted people, traditional communities, peaceful landscapes, delicious food, and countless stories passed from one generation to another.
When you travel with me, I want you to discover Cambodia beyond the famous landmarks.
I want you to meet the people behind the culture, hear the stories behind the temples, understand the history behind our civilization, and experience moments of everyday Cambodian life.
My hope is that when you leave Cambodia, you will take home more than photographs.
I hope you take home memories, friendships, understanding, and a piece of Cambodia in your heart.

One of my deepest personal dreams is to support children and young people in rural Cambodia, especially through education and English-language learning.
I know from my own journey how important education can be.
I believe every child deserves a chance to learn, dream, and believe that their future can be brighter than their past.
